Everything You Want to Know About Live Rosin Vape Carts

Over the last decade or so, vaping quickly grew from a curiosity to a major trend, and soon people realized that, like cannabis itself, not all vape cartridges are created equal.

There is a wide range of quality, both on the external components and the cannabis concentrate inside. And what you get out of the vaping experience depends on what’s in the cart.

At äkta, we are proud to produce live rosin vape carts that provide everything we want in an authentic cannabis experience and nothing we don’t. This comes from a deep respect for our customers and the cannabis plant.

Why Live Rosin Vape Carts Are Different

When you vape cannabis, what are you actually inhaling? Live rosin separates itself from other vapables because of what’s in it—and what isn’t.

Most vape cartridges on the market are essentially vessels for delivering THC, CBD or a combination of the two. But cannabis is so much more than its two most famous cannabinoids. The plant contains over 100 cannabinoids and a suite of terpenes, which provide much of the character and flavor of a strain. What ends up in the vape cart is a result of how the cannabis flower is extracted, and if you want to translate the full complexity of the plant into the mysterious goo in the glass cylinder, you need to use a specific, meticulous process.

At äkta, we flash freeze the plant immediately after harvesting, locking the cannabinoids and terpenes into the trichomes—those resinous glands that speckle the flowers of a fine herb. The next step is to gather the trichomes so they can provide the raw material for the live rosin.

Turning the trichomes into the viscous liquid that goes in the vape cart is where many producers introduce a solvent. For instance, live resin (not to be confused with rosin) typically uses butane or a similar hydrocarbon solvent to pull out hash oil. It’s efficient for production purposes, but nearly impossible to guarantee that no residue remains to be inhaled by the end user.

That’s why our live rosin is extracted through a completely solventless process, where we use ice water and agitation to separate the trichomes into hash, and then apply low heat and gentle pressure to make the live rosin, creating a full-spectrum, supremely flavorful product.

By preserving the array of cannabinoids and terpenes of the cannabis plant and judiciously translating it into live rosin, we retain the full symphony of notes that are in the flower at the moment it is harvested.

Creating a full-spectrum concentrate also allows the consumer to experience the full interplay of natural plant compounds as they interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system, what’s known as the entourage effect. Pure THC is not the goal here; pure cannabis is what we achieve.

Your Vaping Vessel Matters

We use only top-quality ceramic and glass components for our live rosin vape carts. Why? Think of the type of materials you would be comfortable using as a vessel for a hot drink. If the material is likely to react to normal levels of heat, as is generally the case with plastic, it should not be the conduit for your coffee—or your cannabis.

The heating element matters too. A precise and consistent heat source allows the live rosin to express itself with minimal harshness to your throat or lungs.

Vaping appeals to many people for health reasons and the cannabis experience it creates. Live rosin builds on both by providing a solventless concentrate that preserves everything we love about the cannabis plant. It’s the next evolution in cannabis vaping.
